Australian Record Industry Awards (ARIAs) 2010.

Recognising the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres, the ARIA Awards are the music industry’s annual night of nights. For 2010, the award show debut with a fresh look at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Siblings Angus and Julia Stone triumphed winning album of the yea.r for Down the Way and single of the year for ‘Big Jet Plane’.

Megan Washington was awarded with the ARIA for breakthrough artist for her debut album I Believe You Liar.

Sia was in fine form in the media room when she accepted the ARIA trophy for Best Independent Artist. The Adelaide-born pop star told the press room while accolades were enjoyable, awards held very little significance in her life.

“It’s not really a measure of success in my life. It’s nice. It’s just nice. I don’t care if I win or not. I don’t care it’s nice but it’s fully whatever man,” she said.

Powderfinger ended an incredible career with ARIAs for most popular Australian artist and album, thrilling the crowd outside the Sydney Opera House with a farewell performance.
